That's NOT my name

Please, for the LOVE of God, don't scream "hey" or "hey you" or "doc" or "woman" or "lady" or anything else that is not remotely near what you can (or can't) read on my name tag. None of the above have ever been my name nor will be in the future. When you say those things to me, a health care professional, all I can think of is "what the f^$# are you, a cave person? Raised by wolves?" Seriously, calling me by my non name bugs the hell out of me. It is on my top 100 things that bug me about the public, as in YOU. Not all of you, of course. Especially not that hot Edward Cullen dude. ANYWAYS, pointing is also off limits. I do not respond to pointing. I will chop your finger off if you insist on doing it in the future with my razor sharp spatula. If you politely ask me for help, I will leap over the counter and give you great service! If you are an ass, expect attitude. Sorry, that's the way I roll.

Love,

Filet

Lol and I hate it when people read my nametag - a simple "sir?" will get my attention.

Everyone in the hospital where I work has made decent attempts at loking at my badge for my name, but there are some exceptions. I've been mistaken for a hospitalist and intensivist on the same day when I was talking to patients on the ER one day. I even have a big honking thing under my badge that says "PHARMACY INTERN". If people only took a second of their life to read the name...

By the same token, I REALLY hate patients who call me by my first name from the first minute on.

I always call new patients by Mr. or Ms., so hate it when someone I've never seen before immediately calls me by my first name, or worse yet, some damn nickname they've come up with while jacking off in my waiting room.

On a related topic... If I tell you my name is Alan, don't come back with "Hey, Al, howya doin'." It's Alan, damn it. If my name was Al, I'd have said so. Bugs the heck out of me. Why do people do this?

We used to have a mand who would walk in and shout "SHOP" in order to be served. This really pissed off me and my staff so i told them to ignore him if he said it again. He did not like this and got really stroppy with me, but I loved telling him that if he walks in and says SHOP, and the shop doesnt answer, that it the fault of the shop itself, and not the people that work here. He doesnt say it any more.
